Stepper Motors
Stepper motors are DC motors that move in steps. Using computer-controlled stepping, you may get very fine placement and speed control. Because stepper motors have accurate repeatable steps, they are perfect for applications requiring precise positioning. Conventional DC motors do not have much torque at low speeds, however stepper motors have maximum torque at low speeds.
